Bianca de Llobet from Barcelona: an ant makes Liberty-style plaids and cushions for more colour and joy in people’s homes.

There’s no backwards or forwards because both sides are at the front. Based in the northeast of Barcelona, Bianca de Llobet and her team produce wonderful plaids, cushions and sets in selected art nouveau and floral designs. The fabrics come from London, the workmanship from Catalonia. ‘an ant’ offers high-quality, exclusive hand-made products distinguished by a great love of detail. “I want to fill houses with beautiful patterns and colours. Kitchens, dining rooms, the bedrooms of children and parents: we want to decorate these rooms with joy and selected colours”, says Bianca de Llobet.

Both sides are beautiful: an ant’s plaids and cushions have two different sides…

The plaids have fillings of wool, cotton or polyester-cotton blends – to ensure they are easy to wash. The patterns and threads with which the bedspreads are quilted reflect a motif in the fabric. The blankets and cushions are only made in very small production runs or as individual items. This dualism is always combined harmoniously and the company’s name stands for the diligent and industrious nature of this insect; for the manual aspects. Much love goes into the products of ‘an ant’ and Bianca de Llobet says that her aim is to enable her customers to rediscover this love with her blankets and cushions, to fall in love again…

‘an ant’ is making its presentation in Hall 11.1, Stand A18.
