#GibDirStoff at Heimtextil 2016

For the second time, the Textile Rooms Initiative (Initiative Textile Räume e.V. – ITR) will be presenting itself and its work at Heimtextil. For its appearance at the show this time, the sector federation has furnished itself with a pretty high profile – in the form, indeed, of a gigantic red cushion. It is even, perhaps, the largest cushion in the world and measures a huge four metres by four metres! It symbolises the enormous amount that can be achieved when people group together, consolidate their efforts and commit themselves to a common purpose. The display represents the ITR’s campaign #GibDirStoff (roughly, ‘#GibDirStoff’ means treat yourself to fabrics), which is aimed at the end consumer and seeks to awaken greater interest and enthusiasm for soft furnishings.Interior designers and furnishings experts, interior architects, specialist retailers and all other visitors with an interest in the area can get an idea of the aims and activities of this new campaign within the sector. The ITR is keen to make people aware of its work and draw their attention to the #GibDirStoff campaign in a manner that is as striking and ‘loud’ as the huge, luminous cushion itself. Over 50 companies in the sector have already signed up to the campaign. Together, they can better make use of media opportunities and reach new strata of purchasers. The idea is that home textiles and soft furnishings should thus take their rightful place as an important creative element in modern lifestyles and once again find their way into the planning stage for the furnishings.
