Blogger discover Heimtextil
A day before the official opening and Heimtextil was already a hive of activity – besides a gaggle of journalists from the business and daily press, a group of furnishing and textile bloggers was also to be seen at the fair. Representing a variety of blogs including ‘So leb ich’, ‘Hyggelig’, ‘Tastesheriff’ and’Styleranking’, Messe Frankfurt gave the bloggers an exclusive opportunity to discover the latest trends in the textile sector.
The participants were particularly impressed by the Trend Show, which was explained to them by Anne Marie Commandeur of Stijlinstituut Amsterdam during a lively guided tour. Clara Kirchner of ‘Tastesheriff’ was delighted with the Trend Show: “I was captivated by the trend area. It shows that Heimtextil is doing everything possible to actually set trends and be more than just a sales event.”
After the Trend Show, the bloggers went on to ‘Design live’, the designer area in Hall 4.2 distinguished by a particularly creative atmosphere. At the ‘Campus’ exhibition of design by students of international universities, the bloggers came into contact with the young talents and were very impressed by the variety of textile-design ideas to be seen. At ‘Young Creations Award: Upcycling’, the public-choice prize for young designers, they were able to vote for their favourite design. Particularly eye-catching were articles made of recycled skateboards and a desk made of an old bathtub.
On the second day of the fair, the bloggers explored the fair on their own and discovered highlights such as wall-coverings by star designer Luigi Colani and richly embroidered textiles in the Asian halls. We would like to thank all bloggers for visiting Heimtextil and look forward to seeing them again in January 2014!
