A creative younger generation celebrates Heimtextil premiere

The creative foundation stone for the ‘Breitenbach und Töchter Design Studio‘ was laid by Erich Breitenbach, grandfather of company founder Dr. Gabriela Schütze-Leonhardt. He worked in German television, and design was his great passion – one that he successfully handed down to his granddaughter. Today, the Design Studio creates and produces unique hand-drawn designs for high-quality textiles and objects, specifically for the hotel and restaurant industry.

‘Breitenbach und Töchter Design Studio’ has just received the ‘German Brand Award 2017 – special’ – and is again nominated for 2018! The Design Studio develops individual design concepts for German and international customers. “Our inspirations for the handmade pattern collections are developed from stories and objects in everyday life – everything that we perceive with our senses, such as things we’ve seen, the sound of a piece of music, and the scent of a perfume. Textured surfaces are also inspiring for us, and, above all, the natural world, with all its incredible facets. This is how, on the island of Gotland, the ‘Morgentau’ (morning dew) collection came into being, with its versions ‘Morgentau 5.00 Uhr’ and ‘Morgentau 5.30 Uhr’ – the light in the early hours of summer mornings on the Baltic creates a fascinating play of colours”, says Dr. Gabriela Schütze-Leonhardt, in describing her design approach.

The award-winning collections and new trends from ‘Breitenbach und Töchter’ can be found this year at Heimtextil 2018, in Hall 4.2., Stand A30.
