New use for recycled polyester made by "raj overseas", India

Yes! The Indian carpet manufacturer “raj overseas” from Panipat (near Dehli) decided on the processing of recycled polyester. “This is our contribution to make the world a little better and beautiful, and it is our responsability”, says Sumeet Nath, Partner of “raj”. This family owned company is over 70 years old and employs more than 1.000 people in the region – known for its weaving tradition. Normally, carpets are made from cotton, wool, jeans or jute here.“raj” is very proud to work in this business branch”, explains Sumeet: the company is manufacturing beautiful products and is thus honoring the name of the family. For quiet some time now, “raj” wants to invest in the protection of the environment. “The little, we can do is to create awareness amongst the people so that they take care of the environment and natural resources – and this is what we do”, says Sumeet. Polyester doesn’t have a very good reputation among the consumers. But,  if you can produce so wonderful carpets out of recycled polyester, than customers should follow this direction. The look and feel of these carpets – believe it or not – cannot be differentiated from pure wool. That’s the truth. Try it out: “raj” is exhibiting at Heimtextil in Hall 6.2. / Both C41.
