The latest project by Continental for interior designers, contract furnishers and other creatives – the skai Design Lab – has just been awarded the German Design Award 2020 in the “Web” category. A playful tool with an impressive range of possibilities for surface design.

With the skai Design Lab, interior designers and planners can use a web-based tool to individualise their projects – an online shop for design professionals! Users can choose a suitable digital print design from a database of several thousand options and personalise it in terms of colour, size or repeating pattern. Both the registration and use of the tool or services such as sample orders are free of charge. Customers can also request real samples at the click of a mouse that will be delivered within Germany and to Europe within 48 to 72 hours. When placing an order, customers can choose from two different material qualities for digital printing. Three grains are available for embossing: a fine sand structure, the typical textile structure or a classic leather grain. In addition to this highlight, the Continental team will be presenting further innovations in surface structures and colours as well as a breathable, microporous upholstery material that adapts perfectly to body temperature. Continental has also developed new water-based, solvent-free systems for its polyurethane products. Hear and see more about the surface-designing skills of Continental in hall 4.0, stand D15.
