Creative expertise writ large
It doesn’t take long before anyone visiting the new, 36,000 m² Finke furnishing store in Hamm comes across an Apelt Studio, which the textile specialist has set up there in a top sales location on the ground floor. Apelt was responsible for planning, concept and installation. For Apelt’s Donata Apelt-Ihling, it is only logical that the furniture trade should pay more attention to this product group.
“Textiles are an important, creative and functional furnishing component. Moreover, the furniture trade has the chance to present complete furnishing concepts, and to add greater variety to their furniture exhibitions and shop windows with products chosen according to the season.”
Another likely reason for the focus on home textiles is that Finke concentrates strongly on women as a target group and underscores its expertise for net curtains, drapes, cushions, table linen and sun-protection textiles by integrating a glass tailor’s shop in the home-textile department. “We welcome the idea very much because it gives consumers insights into the craftsmanship and skills involved and increases their appreciation of textiles as an attractive product”, adds Donata Apelt-Ihling.
