Designtextiles: the benefits of textiles in interior design and architecture

Designtextiles is based on seven “initial partners”, all of them selected premium brands.

Architonic, a Heimtextil partner in matters of interior design, architecture and contract textiles, recently set up a new online portal, dedicated to home textiles: Designtextiles. On this website the Swiss company showcases the wonderful diversity of interior design and architecture as well as the functional benefits of textiles for this purpose, with the inclusion of all the relevant stakeholders – manufacturers, design editors, experts, retailers, processors, planners and users. This new portal will be presented here in more detail.

By setting up Designtextiles, Architonic builds on the long and significant tradition of textiles in interior design. “Textile products now play an important role in all areas of interior design and architecture: accessories, furniture, division into rooms, acoustics and sun protection, but also façades, roofs and constructional reinforcement in composite materials,” says Tobias Lutz, founder and managing director of Architonic.

Designtextiles is based on seven “initial partners”, all of them selected premium brands from Germany and Switzerland and also long-standing exhibitors at Heimtextil: Chivasso, Christian Fischbacher, Création Baumann, Jab Anstoetz, Nya Nordiska, Sahco and Zimmer + Rohde. After an introductory period the portal will be opened up to international premium brands in all matters of textiles.

Designtextiles presents the latest collections through series of photographs and product details, providing an overview of state-of-the-art home and contract textiles. The portal also has up-to-date news as well as studies and reports on industry events such as the latest Heimtextil. “Our aim is to share the wide-ranging potential of textiles in interior design and architecture with interior designers, architects, retailers and especially also with private customers, while also building up a robust knowledge base and source of inspiration,” says Lutz.
