This year, experts from seven nations gathered around the Heimtextil Trendtable at Messe Frankfurt. On their behalf, the German bora.herke.palmisano style studio is in charge of implementing the trend predictions, which are divided into a total of four thematic worlds: Color Riot, Dark Lux, Craft Industry and Split Clarity. They are brought together in the Trend Book ‘Montage’.
By presenting these trend forecasts well in advance every year, Messe Frankfurt points out the direction textile interior design will be taking. Heimtextil has become a trendsetter in this respect. Where colours, fabrics and the design of home textiles are concerned, the world looks to Frankfurt. “We initiated the Heimtextil Trends in 1991 and since then we have been offering this service to the sector in order to show what will be used in the interior-design and contract business in the 18 months that follow”, explains Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies of Messe Frankfurt. A team of designers, interior decorators and furnishing experts is currently implementing the specifications of the Trendtable. The results can be seen in the shape of a presentation in the Forum at Heimtextil 2012.
