Innovations for a good night’s sleep

bed_ps_04Four days’ Heimtextil, four days’ worth of innovations for a good night’s sleep. And, this year as in the past, the Schlafkampagne Team was once again busy at the fair in the interests of healthy sleep. On the one hand, we advised numerous visitors who wanted to know about a good sleeping climate and optimum duvet and pillow combinations, at our stand in Hall 8. On the other hand, we toured the fully-booked up exhibition hall looking for innovations, interesting products and new ideas. This resulted in an exciting and stimulating exchange of information with the sector, which was no less multi-faceted than the answers received to the question presented in this blog: What does good sleep mean for you?

It was also interesting to see that international manufacturers clearly take the subject of sleep climate just as seriously as we do. In response to our question, what qualities should a good duvet have, we always heard that, in addition to comfort, the focus should be on good climatic qualities, such as breathability and the ability to wick away moisture. Additionally, many companies are experimenting with new materials and we heard that certain forms of man-made micro-fibres now exhibit qualities similar to those of down or natural fibres.

When it comes to pillows, the trend continues towards an improved ergonomic fit to the head and neck. With memory foam, water pillows, pillows with pocket springs or combinations of natural fibres and supporting materials, there is a suitable pillow for everyone’s needs. But how should one go about finding the best pillow for oneself? The Schlafkampagne offered help and advice in this connection.

High-quality products for the bedroom are important, as are expertise and intensive advice in the trade. Certain questions and problems reoccur frequently. We are aware of this from our many years with the Schlafkampagne and our aim is to offer orientation to prevent people losing the way in the sheer diversity of products available. Heimtextil is a good starting point for this and we are already looking forward to seeing what next year’s fair holds in store for us.
