Lexington: casual lifestyle at its best
Individual, high-quality home textiles from the East Coast
Surf Boards, an original off-road vehicle, ‘glamping’ equipment and a simply congenial atmosphere shine out at visitors on the Lexington stand at Heimtextil 2019. The Swedish fashion and home textiles company is showcasing its products with the look and feel of the East Coast of America. This is where the name comes from too: Lexington is a small town outside Boston, Massachusetts, and it has an important history. The Lexington brand is characterised by the lifestyle in New England and, as CEO and Creative Director Kristina Lindhe relates, she spends a lot of time in this area when she’s not living in her home city of Stockholm.
“At a time when we have access to all kinds of products and designs, we want to live with things that we love – things that tell a story, high-quality products that are best made by hand. It’s all about a personal connection to materials and design”, Kristina explains, and the business woman goes on to say that ‘casualisation’is the most important trend. To feel good with simple, but high-quality products and to have a place in these fast-moving times where you feel you have roots. This can be achieved very stylishly with Lexington’s home textiles in high-quality cotton and mixed fabrics, such as cashmere. Stripes and checks are combined with a floral print here and there: it’s quietly classic and it radiates calm. Summer, though, promises to be an active time – the stand display is furnished with surf boards, a genuine off-roader, lots of large beach towels and a luxury tent.
