It all began with high-quality ready-made curtains. Then wool blankets, throws and cushion covers were added to the range. At the upcoming Heimtextil 2018, Alexander Kaup will be showcasing his new washed linen bedding, and so expanding yet again the Thanks A Lot collection.
“I derive a lot of pleasure from developing new products”, says the textiles expert, and he adds that collections are always about the big picture. This is also clear from the way that the Thanks A Lot range is presented and packaged. Kaup packs his high-quality blankets and cushion covers in natural, recyclable boxes; he builds his shop shelving out of wood, and he dispatches the products using exclusively the DHL go green service.
“Perhaps these are small considerations, but taken in their entirety, they make all the difference”, the Westphalian explains. Alexander Kaup’s label Thanks A Lot has been on the market since 2015. All the products are produced by leading designers and weaving mills in Europe, and they observe and comply with high ecological and technological standards. ‘Thanks A Lot’ is based on natural colour worlds which can be combined in a variety of ways. With the products in Alexander Kaup’s collection, the concept of ‘longing for home’ takes on a whole new dimension: “With the Thanks A Lot ready-made curtains, cushions, and other products, you can create your own, completely individual, favourite place”, says Kaup. And why is the company called Thanks A Lot?
You’d do best to ask Alexander Kaup this question in person at Heimtextil 2018, Hall 11.0, Stand D08.
