Photorealistic motifs on carpet and wall

One of many Heimtextil trends

Digital technology makes it possible: photorealistic motifs beautify wallpaper and now even carpets. Although this trend has existed on the wall for several years, it was unabated at Heimtextil 2018. Manufacturers like A.S. Creation take the change of scenery literally and take viewers to dream locations or bring wild animals directly into the living room.

Digital printing provides an increasing number of possibilities and greater precision. Kornit Digital, for example, develops colours with special luminosity.

The new process integrates the neon tones pink and yellow directly into CMYK printing.

This means no change of cartridge is necessary, whether for neon highlights or simply more luminosity for different textile types from single jersey to swimwear.

Imaginative, floral designs and neo-Romantic artworks in photo-realistic quality stand out in the designs. HP works together with the designer Elli Popp, among others (photo on the left).

The trend is towards geometric designs, impulsive brush strokes, young ethno patterns and metallic shimmer. The exquisite, Venetian looks exude a certain opulence not only on wallpaper.

With Ege Carpet the “Carpet by Heimtex” area gave an insight into the fascinating photo-realistic future of the carpet. The photo on top shows the fascinating possibilities in carpet design (photo: Ege Carpet).
