The new box-spring bed: virtually configured
Bed maker Brinkhaus presents an innovation at the fair
A mirror over the bed is old hat. Today and tomorrow, the modern consumer wears virtual-reality glasses in the bedroom. A peculiar scenario? Naturally, it is not intended for everyday use but for buying a bed. And bed maker Brinkhaus is currently presenting the new technology at the Heimtextil fair. With the aid of virtual-reality glasses, customers can configure their own personal box-spring bed, including all the different variations, colours, fabrics and settings.
Thus, for the first time, customers do not just put together their bed on a computer and see the results on a monitor. Instead, they have the chance to experience their future beds. Firstly, they put on VR glasses and take a kind of laser pointer. Then they can get comfortable on the virtual bed. Interesting times for retailers and customers – if all goes to plan, the first retailer in Frankfurt will be able to offer a virtual bed in Frankfurt this spring.
During the fair, visitors can experience the world of virtual sleep systems on the stand of bed maker Brinkhaus: Hall 8.0, Stand C 60.
