This was the question of the German association of fashion and textile designers – VDMD – which they sent to their members and partners. The manyfold answers can now be seen in Hall 4.2. / both C86. The show areal of VDMD, which is the biggest German network for fashion and textile designers, shows the statements of the big and the not so big business players on 18 meters of printed tissue there. “Design is for me…” and “Designers are for me…” are the beginnings of the various statements. With this event, VDMD wants to emphasis its campaign www.Design-up-Germany.de, launched in 2010 – to create more awareness for the importance of design. The answer of Detlef Braun, CEO of the Messe Frankfurt GmbH, was: “Design is aesthetics to me”. Prof. Dr. Peter Bofinger, an important consultant for the overall economic situation said: “Design is for me giving glamour to daily life.” And this is what trade visitors can find everywhere at Heimtextil in a very useful way: very designed products for the every day life of home textiles.
