Wonderable from Holland with hand-made treats for the eye.
Traditional arts & crafts from all over the world in modern, linear designs: Carla Peters and Eva de Bruine of Wonderable Holland have travelled far and wide to bring the most attractive examples of craftsmanship to Europe. All partners from India, Thailand, Vietnam and Peru are Fair Trade companies. “It is important that our suppliers also profit from the success of their wonderful products”, says Carla Peters. The product designer works with great care and expertise. She is completely au fait with the world of handicrafts and can see at a glance whether a piece has been well made or not. Wonderable’s products combine traditional techniques, materials and handicrafts, such as embroidery, braiding, weaving and three-dimensional ceramic works, with their own design ideas.
In this way, the designers produce cushions, vases, bags and lamps that enrich the home as works of art. No one article is identical with another – everything is handmade. And every piece tells the story of distant countries, people and traditions. All are characterised by great aesthetic quality and depth. The cheerful vases with decorative sculptures from Thailand are extremely popular and utterly extraordinary. In December 2012, Heidi Klum purchased one of these vases in Munich, travelled around the world with it and has even posted it on her Facebook account! A product that was intended to be an export hit for Holland but then flopped is now being revitalised by Wonderable and turned into highly original vases. Now, the stock room of the small ceramic souvenir shop is empty and the product so successful that Wonderable has had to order more vases from the Thai factory. Wonderable creates delightful designs for all aspects of life – gems for the sofa, art in every room …
